XLHeat Transfer is a library commonly used for one dimensional, steady heat transfer functions. The functions available in this toolbox are those which are commonly introduced during the junior year of most engineering heat transfer courses. It is designed to be used to build up a set of rules which govern convection, conduction and radiation thermal energy transfer modes. These functions provide the ability to model and solve systems of thermal energy flow equations which are the basis of the "rules" that govern the behavior of thermal systems.
These rules can then be combined with other system rules and solved using numerical methods. The user determines either the rate of heat transfer across a solid surface due to conduction given certain input parameters or the value of an input parameter required to attain a specified rate of heat transfer due to conduction. The Toolbox includes thermal properties of common engineering working materials so that the user does not have to track down reference books to look up the material thermal properties.
The user also has a choice of using English or SI units.
