| Thermal Fluid Properties in Excel and VBA
XLThermal Fluids is an Excel/VBA/Fortran function for calculation of the 7 thermodynamic properties of common engineering fluids. The thermodynamic properties calculated include temperature, pressure, specific volume, internal energy, enthalpy, entropy, and quality. As is typical with SpreadsheetWorld Toolboxes, it includes a user friendly wizard to assist the user in selecting the inputs needed by the function. The wizard provides drop down boxes for selection of fluid, units, and the 2 independent input known thermal properties. This function provides the ability to solve systems of equations including variable thermal properties which are basis of the "rules" that govern the behavior of engineering systems. These rules include systems of algebraic, integral and differential equations.

The Thermal Fluids Toolbox provides the capability to determine the thermodynamic state of 37 common fluids in four different sets of units. The methods and equations utilized in this module are based on the computational equations published in "Thermodynamic Properties in SI" by William C. Reynolds, Stanford University, 1979. The toolbox functions may be accessed directly from either the Excel worksheet or Visual Basic for Applications. A graphic interface, the Thermal Fluids Property Calculator, is also available which provides instant access to the toolbox functions.
